About the Artist
Hi I’m Caroline!
As a native Cape Codder, I am reminded of the beauty that surrounds me, drawing inspiration from both land and sea. My art is often described as vibrant and whimsical, and I’m particularly drawn to creating life-like textures found in nature. I love experimenting with replicating these textures, which keeps my art constantly evolving and captivating.
In addition to starting my own small business, Art by Buccino (2024), I am a full-time music teacher. For the past seven years, I’ve been an elementary music teacher at Barnstable Public School. Recently, I accepted the Arts Department Chair and Music Teacher position at Falmouth Academy. Between art and music I am continually inspired by nature, the love of my family, hauntingly beautiful melodies and my amazing students.
Many of my pieces are named after famous songs. I hope you will look at the artwork and hear the song in your head while admiring it, creating a multi-sensory experience. I believe art and music coexist in perfect harmony, giving each other life. As a mixed media artist the tools and materials I use vary for each project to give it its unique look. For example, I use heavy-body acrylic paint on canvas or wood panel, ranging in size from 4” to 20” to craft my 3D Forever Bouquets. My paper on paper collages are made with acrylic paint and incorporate vintage sheet music into each piece, topped with a high gloss resin finish, which looks great unframed.
I was honored to be awarded a feature in a major art supply companies' newsletter, Artresin (2024). I had the pleasure of being an artist-in-residence at the Hyannis Artist Shanties summer of 2025.
